"RAINBOW"'S THIRD SINGLE The Dutch Mariah Carey Association is saying that they third single from "Rainbow" will either be "Against All Odds" or "Mariah's Theme" Although, it was rumored before that "How Much" would be the third single! and its also been rumored that there wont be any further singles off the album after "Thank God I Found You" So i don't know what to believe. And i kind of find it hard to believe that sony would put out two ballads in a row! But i guess we'll see. NOMINATE MARIAH! You can nominate mariah at Sonicnet's readers poll. It is rumored that Mariah is doing some concerts. But there has not been anything offically announced, so i am still skeptical. But when i find out, i'll deffinately let you all know. ********** 1-8-2000 MARIAH'S "VALENTINES" I was at Wal-Mart the other day, and i saw an interseting poster. It was for an exlucive CD called "Valentines" It will have Mariah songs on it, probably nothing new, but there will only be five songs. And its true, because it seems other people have seen it too! It comes out January 25(same as TGIFY) So when you go to get your "Thank God I Found You" single, go to Walmart to buy it, and pick up this CD too! I HAVE TO THANK MARIAH REALLY QUICK!! Hey everyone, i just have some thanks to give mariah. Because recently i tried out for my schools Jazz Chior. To tryout, you have to sing a song in front of a little audience. I chose to sing "Mariah's Theme" and to my suprise, i did good! Anyways, i got a position in that chior! And i have to thank mariah for writing such a good song! I probably got on because i sang one of the best songs from the best singer in the world! ********** 1-7-2000 SORRY ABOUT THIS LAST WEEK! Sorry everyone, but i couldn't possibly keep up with everything this last week! I had a ton of stuff to do! MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN OF THE CENTURY AWARD!!! Well...not a real award! But its my award to Mariah! Oh...and let me add, best voice, best songs, best CDs, and Overall Best! CONGRADULATIONS TO MARIAH ON HER GRAMMY NOM! Mariah has finally gotten another Grammy Nomination! Unfourtunatally, on one! But "Rainbow" and its sigles will be able to be on next years grammy nomination list! So lets hope that will happen!! All i have to say is....YOU GO GIRL! MARIAH ON TRL She was a couple of days ago, but she has since sliped off the countdown! We need to get her back on! Because if "Thank God I Found You" doesn't do good, then sony might not let Mariah have any more "Rainbow" singles! MARIAH OPENING AMA!!! Dick Clark's 27th Annual AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS will air on ABC, Monday, January 17th at 8 PM ET/PT from L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium. One part is music artists choosing their top 5 albums of the year. RAINBOW was in Christina Aguilera's top 5 (was not in Britney's top 5 or Madonnas top 5 though). Two days ago during the MTV USA celebration before the turn of the century, Carson Daly asked Christina Aguilera what her favorite album of all time was and she mentioned Mariah's first album as one of them and she said that it was an "amazing" album and that Mariah continues to be amzaing. Also he asked Jessica Simpson (another teen singer) and she said, with no doubt, Mariah's #1's and she said, "I listen to it all the time." So it's nice that Mariah is a model for these young girls. Also the DJs played the Heartbreaker remix during the party. MARIAH NEEDS YOUR HELP! This was on because WildCatHG's Too Cool Mariah Carey Page and i thought it was a good idea! Okay when I reported Sony wasn't going to release any more MC single after TGIFY, you all got upset and sent in your letters. Well MC needs your help again. Lately TGIFY has been doing REALLY REALLY bad on TRL! We need to all come together and get Mariah back on the countdown! Think about it, if people don't see this video, don't like the song, the single will do BAD and Sony will NOT release more singles. Plus Mariah said herself that she loves this song! December 1st was the day when Mariah received Caras for an exclusive interview in her suit on the 23th floor at the Sheraton Tower Park Hotel, and we had a talk with her on her nice king-size bed. CARAS: At the back of the Rainbow cover you say that the album is a chronology of all your emotions from the past year. What happened to you last year? MARIAH: Actually the two lastest years were very bad, since I got divorced from Tommy Mottola, everything was a nightmare, but now everything is ok. After a storm there is a rainbow. My life was full of problems, I always had to fight for what I wanted, in my music and in my personal life. In my lyrics I said what I felt, but then I started to doing it, I started saying how I felt. That way, for example, I got over my racial problems, that was my way out of that. CARAS: On those lines you said that if we listen closely to the album there is a story with a happy ending. What do you mean, is that related to any person in common? MARIAH: You work for Caras, so you have to know what I mean! CARAS: Is that answer Luis Miguel? MARIAH: Do you need me to confirm that? CARAS: It's weird you don't want to say his name. Are you in love? MARIAH: Yes, but if I talk too much about that, I think it won't be "my thing" annymore, it won't be a personal thing. CARAS: You were once married, now you wanna be free, in love, but, do you still making plans for the future, do you wanna have kids? MARIAH: Honestly, I can't, "we" are very involved on our carreers, our jobs, so for the moment, no we are not having a child. CARAS: Do you consider Luis as a man for the rest of your life? MARIAH: Luis is a lovely person, and a lot of people love him, who can resist to him?. But I think it's a little too soon to make plans for the future. CARAS: Why Mariah? What are you afraid of? MARIAH: I don't want to talk about my past marriage, but it's known that in some ways I didn't had a nice life, I wasn't very free, I was not allowed to do somethings, I could not even dress how I wanted, but now if I want to wear a black top, or a short skirt, I will. I'm feel free now. CARAS: Are you afraid to loose that freedom with Luis? MARIAH: No!, not at all, I still going out with my friends, I still going to the clubs and all, so no, he respects me very much and I respect him very much too. CARAS: Is it difficult for you, a famous woman, being with a famous person? MARIAH: No, you know what? It's better, because if I said, "sorry darling, I have to give a concert in front of 10.000 people, I will call you back later!", he would know what I mean!, so it's very easy! CARAS: Are you people that want to have the power - or fight for the power? MARIAH: No, he is who he is, and I am who I am, we have not any problem with that. CARAS: Through all this years you have recorded: Heroe, El Amor Que Soņe, and Mi Todo. Luis Miguel, makes you want a little more of that? MARIAH: Well, I am not very happy with those songs, because I realised that the meaning in Spanish was not the same, so now I´m learning more Spanish, when I know a little more I will do more Spanish songs. CARAS: Recently, you have debuted on the big screen, with The Bachelor, how was your experience? MARIAH: I really liked it, although it was a small scene, but I'm planning a movie for the next year, it's called All That Glitters, and will be based in the 80's. It is a story of a girl who met a DJ, and she wants to be famous, and she has to find her mum. It's kinda an autobiography. CARAS: In the 90's you were the Pop Diva, now in the year 2000, you wanna be the Movie Diva? MARIAH: You know, in the music bussines, anyone who makes a record or a video, is now called Diva, I don't consider myself a Diva. If I'm going everywere with bodyguards, is because the world is a little crazy nowdays, but every opportunity, I have to get in touch with the people I take it. MARIAH ON TRL TOP 99 OF '99 Mariah was on The Top 99 of '99! She was number 61 with "thank god i found you" and number 30 with "heartbreaker" Congradulations Mariah!!!! "SMOOTH" IS THREATENING "ONE SWEET DAY" Hey everyone, something bad for mariah and her fans is going on! My second favorite song of '99 (only second to Heartbreaker) is in it's 12th week at number one! The song is "Smooth" by Santana and Rob Thomas. If it is there for 4 more weeks (which i believe it deffinately could!), it'll be 16 weeks at number one. Same number of weeks at one as Mariah's "One Sweet Day" Now there are a couple things we can do! First, everyone can go and get Christina Aguilera's new single, so it'll be number one. Second, request "Back At One" by Brian McKnight, the number 2 video for a while now. And lastly, don't request "Smooth" no matter how good of a song it is! "THANK GOD I FOUND YOU" NOT RISING VERY FAST! EVERYONE...request "Thank God I Found You" at your local radio stations (especially those of you who live by one of the really big ones). Request it on TRL. Its only up two spots from last week. Thats not much! So, its airplay needs to be a lot better! And when January 25th rolls around, buy the single! Another thing you might do for this song is ask MTV if they'll premier the remix video! Maybe the remix will do a lot better then the original! JAY-Z REVIEW: "THINGS THAT U DO" Well it seems that if you take a little bit of mariah, add in some Jay-z (or the other way around) it equals a hit!
